How to Keep Josera Dry Food Fresh for Longer

If you’re a proud pet parent using Josera dry food, you’re already making a smart, health-conscious choice for your furry companion. Josera products are known for their premium quality, free from artificial additives, GMOs, wheat, and soy – giving your pet clean nutrition with every bite.

But to ensure your pet gets the full benefits of Josera’s quality, it’s just as important to store the food correctly. Improper storage can lead to loss of freshness, contamination, and even nutritional degradation. Here’s how you can keep your Josera dry food in top condition – fresh, tasty, and safe – all the way to the last scoop.

1. Keep the Original Packaging

Josera’s packaging is designed to preserve freshness. The inner lining protects the food from air and moisture. If possible, leave the kibble inside the original bag and place the entire bag into a container for added protection.

Pro Tip: Always seal the top of the bag tightly after each use. Use a clip or fold it and tape it shut to reduce air exposure.

2. Use an Airtight Container

Once opened, store the food in an airtight container that is food-grade and BPA-free. This prevents exposure to air, light, moisture, and pests – all of which can degrade the food.Choose containers with tight lids, preferably opaque ones to block out light and preserve nutrients.

3. Store in a Cool, Dry Place

Keep Josera dry food in a cool and dry location, ideally below 25°C and away from sunlight. Avoid garages, outdoor sheds, or laundry rooms where heat and humidity fluctuate.

Avoid: Storing the food next to cleaning supplies or chemicals. Strong odors can permeate the food.

4. Watch the Expiry Date

Josera dry foods have a best-before date clearly printed on the packaging. Always check this before purchase and keep track at home.

Rotate your stock: Use the “first in, first out” method to avoid old food sitting at the bottom of the container for too long.

5. Don’t Mix Old and New Food

While it might seem convenient, avoid pouring new food into a container that still has old kibble inside. The older food can spoil the new batch if it’s starting to degrade or attract moisture.

Instead, empty and clean the container between refills for maximum freshness.

6. Buy the Right Bag Size

Josera offers a variety of bag sizes. To maintain optimal freshness, buy a size that matches your pet’s consumption rate.

For example, a 15kg bag may not be ideal for a small dog unless you can store it properly and use it up within a few weeks.
